Elements
Elements are the components that make up a marketing Campaign. A Campaign element can be one of a subset of components that create an interaction with contacts. For example, an email message, an online survey and an auction could all be added to a Campaign as elements.
You can either add an existing Component as an element or you can create a new component to add as an element.
Removing an element from a Campaign will not delete the Component.
Add an Existing Component as an Element
You can add an existing Component to a Campaign as an element.
To add an existing component
- Load the Elements view in the Campaign's Component window.
- Click the Add button from the Action Bar.
- From the Existing submenu, click the type of Component that you would like to add as an element.
- The Select Component dialog will be displayed.
- Click the Component that you would like to add and click the Add button.
- The Component will be added to the Campaign as an element.
Add a New Element
From the Campaign Component window you can create a new Component which will automatically be added to the Campaign as an element.
To create a new Component and add it as an element
- Load the Elements view in the Campaign's Component window.
- Click the Add button from the Action Bar.
- From the New submenu, click the type of Component that you would like to create.
- The new Component window will be displayed.
- Depending on the type of Component that you selected to create the available options will vary. Fill in the necessary details and click the Create button.
- The Component will be created and added to the Campaign.
- You can close the new Component's window to return to editing the Campaign or continue to configure the new Component.
