When to Use Campaigns

Campaigns can be used in one of two ways:

  • Acquisition: to acquire new customers and track their progress through a project. Members are added to a Campaign when they respond to the call to action. For example, fill out the form on a web page or send an SMS message to a Txt4info short code.
  • Retention: to retain existing customers and to track their progress through a project. Members are manually added to a Campaign from existing Contacts in the partition. A typical example of this is presenting existing Contacts with a special offer.

Using a Campaign to provide a single view of progress as well is particularly recommended for:

  • Any project that uses more than two or three components of different types.
  • Any project that spans multiple channels where the progress of participants needs to be tracked.
