How does a Txt Service work?

A Txt Service works by monitoring one or more shortcodes for inbound messages. The Touchpoint Interactive Marketing Platform checks each inbound SMS message received via the monitored shortcode for registered keywords at the beginning of the message. When a matching keyword is found the message is processed by the keyword's Txt Service.

There is a one to one mapping between a published keyword and a Txt service. No two Txt Services can use the same published keyword on the same shortcode.

It is possible to register unique shortcodes for individual campaigns or companies, though to reduce time and cost of implementation multiple Txt Services can share the same shortcode – even when they belong to different companies. Separation is ensured by the use of unique keywords.
