Contacts

A contact represents a person whose details are stored in the database. A person may have their details stored in more than one partition, but each instance will treated as an individual contact in that partition and not linked to the others in any way.

Each Contact record has the following types of information:

  • Contact profile information contains primary contact database data. For example, personal details like name and title and contact information like e-mail address and telephone number.
  • Activities information contains history of interactions with the Contact. For example, a Message being sent to the Contact or the Contact completing a survey.
  • Contact Status controls if a Contact is active and enabled or suspended from all activities. If a contact is suspended no messages can be sent to that contact.
  • List Memberships - records which lists a Contact belongs to.
  • Transactions - record of a Contact's financial and loyalty transactions.
