Keyword Tips
There are certain words that can not be used as keywords, and others that you should avoid.
It is recommend that you avoid the following types of keywords:
- INFO1 avoid anything with a mix of numbers and letters as this can be confusing for the Contact.
- TXT, SHORTCODE, TO , TWO, TOO, 2, SEND, PHONE, FOR avoid anything that is similar to the copy that will be used in the call to action.
- 333, 4, 2 avoid numbers as they can be potentially confusing for Contacts.
- R&R avoid anything that could be entered in multiple different ways. For example, R&R may be interpreted and entered R & R, RANDR or R+R.
- REST.RECREATION avoid anything with punctuation. Contact's can easily misinterpret it or enter too much punctuation.
- QUESTIONNAIRE avoid keywords that are too long or are commonly misspelled.
- PHONETIC avoid keywords that are not spelled phonetically.
- EXCESSIVELY long keywords should be avoided. Aim for keywords that are three to six characters long and preferably one or two syllables.
- CHEERLEADER avoid double-barrelled words as these could easily be misinterpreted and entered with additional punctuation or spaces. For example, CHEERLEADER may be entered as CHEER-LEADER or CHEER LEADER.
The following keywords are system reserved and therefore can not be used as a Txt Service keyword.
- NAME
- ADDRESS
- MAIL
- EMAIL
- PHONE
- HELP
- JOIN
- QUIT
- STOP
- WHO
- PASSWORD
- ERROR
