Txt Service Status

A Txt Service has two basic statuses:

  • Published the Txt Service is active and is able to send and receive messages.
  • Unpublished the Txt Service is inactive and will not send or receive any messages.

In addition to these two states, a Txt Service also has a validity period. The validity period determines the action that will be taken and the reply that will be sent to the Contact when a sms message is received.

For example, if a message is received when the Txt Service is outside its validity period, but it is currently published, the offer expired message as defined in the Txt Replies view will be sent.

The following table illustrates which txt reply message will be sent in response to a valid message containing a valid join request. This changes depending on the Txt Service's published state and and if the request falls within the validity period. The messages can be customized in the Txt Replies view of the Txt Service's Component window.
