Insert Image

You can insert either a local image or an image that is available from another URL into a document.

If you would like to insert an image that you have stored locally on your computer (or on your network) then you will first need to upload the image to the management console using the image manager.

Uploaded images are stored with the web document or message.

To insert a locally stored image

  1. From the WYSIWYG editor tool bar, click the Insert/Edit Image WYSIWYG Editor - Image button.
  2. Two windows will be launched:
    • The Image Properties dialog, displaying the Image Info tab.
    • The Image Manager, which will be displayed in the foreground.
  3. Click the image you would like to insert from the list on the left or upload a new image.
  4. Click the Select button. The Image Manager will be closed and the Image Properties dialog will be visible.
  5. The Image URL text box will automatically be updated with the URL of the selected image.
  6. In the Alt Text text box type a short description of this image.
  7. In the Width text box type the width, in pixels, you would like the image to be displayed at.

By default, the ratio between Width and Height is fixed. This means that entering a Width will automatically update the value in the Height text box and vice versa. To change this behavior so that the two values can be updated individually, click the Locked Ratio WYSIWYG Editor - Image - locked ratio button so that it changes to an Unlocked Ratio WYSIWYG Editor - Image - unlocked ratio button.

You can click the Reset Size WYSIWYG - Image - Reset Size button to have the image's original dimensions automatically entered in the Width and Height text boxes.

  8. Click the Insert button to insert the image.

If you wish to insert an image from an external URL, the process is very similar. Simply click Cancel when the Image Manager is displayed and type the image URL in the Image URL text box.

You can return to the Image Properties dialog by right-clicking on the image in the WYSIWYG and clicking Image Properties.
